Reiki is easy to learn and anyone can learn it. You can learn about reiki in many ways, such as searching the internet, talking with others who have had a reiki session, reading books, etc. One cannot, however, practice reiki until he or she is attuned by a Reiki Master. Once a person is attuned he/she becomes a reiki channel for life and the energy will never leave you.
A reiki practitioner is able to channel healing energy to anyone or any living thing, including plants and animals, including oneself. This is the first level, or Reiki I.
Once a person is attuned to the second level of reiki he or she can send the healing energy at a distance: next door, another state, a different country, even to outer space. This is called distance healing. This second level (Reiki II) also enhances the changes made during the first level attunement and introduces the student to the use of symbols.
There are two parts to the third level: the Advanced Reiki Training (ART) and the Master Level. The ART includes additional attunements which increases the strength of your reiki energy and the effectiveness of the Reiki II symbols. It shows you how to send Reiki to yourself and others 24/7 and how to remove negative psychic energy from yourself and others. The third level of Reiki (Reiki III) enables one to teach and attune others. In the Master training you learn how to teach others Reiki and how to attune them to each level of reiki, making them reiki practitioners.
Learning the third level and becoming a Reiki Master is a serious step. One should be using reiki often and regularly. It is essential that the student be proficient in using the symbols as well. In the third level the student will learn additional symbols and how to use them.
Reiki I is a one day class; Reiki II is also a one day class. Reiki I and II can be taken together or separately. We recommend a person not take ART/Master Teacher (Reiki III) until they know they are ready. This is usually a period of six months or longer.
